Four perspectives are at the centre:<\/p>\n<p>1. the systematic recording of all (linguistic) translations of encyclopaedic texts, including information on original versions, translators, editors and prefaces,<\/p>\n<p>2. processes of cultural adaptation, appropriation and autonomisation taking place in individual translation projects,<\/p>\n<p>3. the meaning of translators as intercultural mediators and important actors in the context of the transmission of encyclopaedic knowledge, and<\/p>\n<p>4. the investigation of the role that translations played in the editing of country-specific lemmas of the most important French encyclopaedia of the Enlightenment: Diderot\u2019s and D\u2019Alembert\u2019s Encyclop\u00e9die.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Project directors are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spp2130.de\/index.php\/en\/project-directors\/#greilich\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PD Dr habil Susanne Greilich<\/a> at Regensburg University and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spp2130.de\/index.php\/en\/project-directors\/#luesebrink\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Prof Dr Hans-J\u00fcrgen L\u00fcsebrink<\/a> at Saarland University, both specialised in Romance philology.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spp2130.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Abstract_DFG-Projekt_Enzyklopa_dismus.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Project description<\/a> of the Saarland University<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n<h5><strong>Publications (project-related):<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spp2130.de\/index.php\/en\/publications\/#greilich\">PD Dr habil.
